In commemoration of the 5th anniversary of their transpacific joint venture, employees from Korean Air and Delta Air Lines joined forces to participate in a “plogging” event, combining jogging and litter collection along the Han River in Yeouido, Seoul. This meaningful effort, conducted in partnership with Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Volunteer Center, witnessed 150 employees cleaning up the riverbanks by collecting various litter, including plastic cups, beverage cans, wooden chopsticks, and plastic bags.
Boeun Shin, passenger sales manager at Korean Air, highlighted the significance of the event, emphasizing the strong partnership with Delta. Justin Lau, general manager of alliance development at Delta Air Lines, praised the growing collaboration’s impact on the community and the world. Korean Air and Delta have been dedicated to community service since their joint venture began in 2018, engaging in various volunteer activities to make a difference. Their commitment to excellence was recently acknowledged when Korean Air was named Best Premium Class Airline and Delta as Best Airline in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
