In a groundbreaking initiative, Fiji, known for its stunning coral reefs, is offering an eco-friendly alternative to traditional flower bouquets this Valentine’s Day. The Coral Bouquet, priced at $25 per coral plant, is not only a unique and memorable gift but also supports the coral restoration efforts of Coral Gardeners Fiji, a leading NGO dedicated to protecting marine ecosystems.
Amid concerns about the environmental impact of importing tons of roses for Valentine’s Day, Fiji aims to raise awareness and promote sustainable alternatives. Purchasers of Coral Bouquets will receive a downloadable card featuring a picture of the planted coral cluster, making it an enduring symbol of love that goes beyond the romantic occasion.
Coral Gardeners Fiji, founded by passionate individuals in 2017, has successfully planted over 100,000 corals in French Polynesia. The organization now has a global mission to plant one million corals by 2025. The Coral Bouquet initiative aligns with Fiji’s commitment to coral reef regeneration and protection, supported by partnerships with Six Senses Fiji and Tourism Fiji.
As a part of their impactful collaborations, Coral Gardeners Fiji recently joined forces with Warner Brothers for the release of “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” featuring Jason Momoa as their Chief Ambassador. The partnership aims to shed light on coral bleaching and reef damage caused by climate change.
This Valentine’s Day, individuals can express their love in a sustainable way by gifting a Coral Bouquet and contributing to the preservation of Fiji’s precious coral reefs.
